It’s almost NADA showtime! This event is a terrific opportunity, but it’s also a significant investment. When it comes to getting your leadership team’s approval, starting the conversation can be intimidating. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. With this in mind, there are actionable steps you should take to ensure you’re able to have a productive conversation with leadership.
Developing a specific plan with these four steps will allow you to demonstrate the value of attending NADA — both for you and for your organization.
- Research: Before you can move forward, you need to ask yourself why you want to attend NADA. Create a list of objectives, including educational opportunities and the vendors you’d like to meet with.
- Cost analysis: Money doesn’t grow on trees — and neither does the budget for your registration, hotel, flight, food and local travel costs. In this step, look at how you can reduce expenses (for example, using public transportation and staying at a low-cost hotel).
- Benefit analysis: Identify some specific ways NADA will help your business in 2019 and beyond. Focus on the skills you’d like to obtain to make your dealership more efficient and profitable.
- Presenting your case: This is your time to shine! Submit your research and goals to your supervisor.
If you’re attending, I’ll be at the vAuto booth (#1620S) this year. I look forward to another great year at NADA with everyone!
