S.C.A.R.C.E. is dedicated to educating students, teachers, residents, businesses, and the general public to conserve natural resources and energy, prevent pollution, reduce waste, recycle, and compost organic materials, so that together we can make a difference; we can protect the environment and work toward a sustainable future for our community. Steps we are taking/have taken towards earning our Green Flag: - Conducted a Green Audit and have identified opportunities to turn our offices Green
- Paperless billing, energy efficient appliances, live plants, natural lighting, reusable dishes, CFL light bulbs, VOC free paints
- Formed a green team
- Scheduled a Staff Training Presentation
- Ongoing recycling program of paper, cans, ink cartridges, distribute reusable grocery bags
- Sponsoring a "Keys for Conservation Program” – collecting old keys and recycling them
- Planning a Computer Recycling Drive for 2010
